No need to travel all the way to Italy this summer when you can experience the best of Italian culture right here in Portland, Maine at St. Peter’s Annual Italian Bazaar set to take place on Saturday, August 10th from 5 PM to 9:30 PM, and Sunday, August 11th from 1 PM – 7 PM, at 72 Federal Street. (Updated as of Wednesday, August 7th: Friday evening festival cancelled and reschedule to Sunday due to pending rain)
Join in on celebrating the vibrant Italian heritage of St. Peter’s Parish, the heart of Portland’s “Little Italy. This beloved street festival, fondly known as the “Bazaar,” is a cherished tradition and beloved community event. Held annually, the Bazaar is a fundraiser for St. Peter’s Church, the Italian Parish of the Diocese of Portland, celebrating the Feasts of the Assumption and St. Rocco.
Prepare the taste buds for an array of authentic Italian delights. From savory pastas to sweet cannolis, attendees will be able to taste traditional Italian fare made with love. Don’t forget to try the homemade pastries that will transport you straight to the streets of Italy! We’ve personally got our eyes (and stomach) set on the cannolis.
Start Saturday afternoon with a Mass led by Bishop James Ruggieri at 4:00 PM, followed by more live music with Patrick Tobin, a Frank Sinatra tribute artist who captures the essence of Ol’ Blue Eyes.Special guest Jimmy Mazz, will join as Dean Martin, with accompaniment by The Fever Band, a lively 6-piece dance band that keeps the party going.
On (now) Sunday, get ready to dance to the tunes of the Jim Ciampi Band, a premier 7-piece dance band known for its infectious energy and lively performances. It’s the perfect soundtrack to a weekend of celebration.
