Elsmere BBQ & Wood Grill has announced that it will close its doors for the final time on Saturday, November 9th. Founding partners Adam Powers and Jeremy Rush shared the news on Instagram, revealing their departure from the Elsmere ownership group.
Located at 448 Cottage Road in South Portland, Elsmere BBQ opened on August 17, 2013, serving up delicious comfort food to the greater Portland community for over a decade. In their farewell post, the owners reminisced about memorable moments over the years, from cheering on Boston sports championships to mastering their iconic meat smoker, “Mama,” and staying up until 3 AM to get the restaurant ready for opening day.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude to their team, they wrote, “We cannot begin to express our gratitude for your loyalty, hard work, friendship and perseverance. Your impact on Elsmere is immeasurable. In an industry that’s famous for relentless staff turnover, the Elsmere staff has been beyond remarkable; you are all rock stars!”
As a farewell gift to the community, Elsmere will be restocking merchandise this Friday, offering fans a keepsake from Elsmere BBQ & Wood Grill.
