Friday, November 20: Start your weekend off right with the fine folks at Liquid Riot Bottling Company to celebrate the release of their new Agave Spirit. It’s made from 100% Blue Agave Syrup and rested in used whiskey barrels to make it even more awesome. According to the Liquid Rioters, this tasty beverage has all the characteristics of a tequila with a touch of rum-like sweetness. To take the celebration next level, they will have piñatas and will also be serving up traditional Mexican street food. Bueno! Pay as you go. Liquid Riot Bottling Company, 250 Commercial Street.
Saturday, November 21: Chasing Shadows, the 66th annual winter sports film from Warren Miller Entertainment, is a celebration of pro skiing and snowboarding. Watch some of the world’s biggest names in skiing and snowboarding as they push the limits of their sport. JT Holmes, Caroline Gleich, Steven Nyman, Marcus Caston, Maine’s own Seth Wescott and more show off their chops on some of the most challenging mountains in the world, including Chamonix, Alaska’s Chugach, Utah’s Wasatch and the mightiest range of them all: the Himalayas. There will also be Gosling’s Rum merchandise giveaways and Gosling’s Dark N’ Stormy cocktails for sale at the bar to keep you warm while watching all those scenes of winter wonderlands. Tickets are $20. State Theatre, 609 Congress Street.
Sunday, November 22: Funky Bow Brewery is quickly becoming one of our favorite breweries to visit when we are looking for a good time, but Lyman is soooo far away. Well lucky for us they are taking the party to Portland on Sunday for a tap and stage takeover at One Long Fellow Square from 4-10 pm. Four different Funky Bow beers will be on tap, and they are also bringing along their scrumptious wood-fired pizza, mmmm! Three bands will perform throughout the evening, including Revibe (a four-piece funk/rock/jazz/electronica band), Stream (Maine’s top reggae group), and Fog Ave (an acoustic trio). Tickets are $15 in advance, $17 at the door. One Longfellow Square, coincidentally located at…One Longfellow Square.
