Friday
Check out the Burundi Drum, Dance, and Culture Festival at Brick South on Thompson’s Point from 6-9pm. General Admission is $20 and children under 12 are free! If you’re really into it you can grab VIP tickets for $50 dollars and go to the kickoff party at Indigo Art Alliance on Thursday from 5-7pm.
Looking for a great view, good music, and an amazing view? Visit the Porthole from 7-11pm and see Fog Ave on Portland’s Largest Waterfront Deck! Fog Ave is an acoustic trio whose members are seasoned musicians who have worked with many amazing artists such as The Lower Village People, Madonna, David Bowie, Chuck Berry, and Cindy Lauper.
Aura is hosting country singer Josh Turner at 9pm. This is an 18 and older event so bring your ID because doors open at 8! Snag yourself some tickets quick!
Saturday
If you like printing and textiles there will be over 30 Maine Printmakers in Congress Square Park to show off their work at the Print Fair 2019. This event is hosted by Pickwick Independent Press and runs from 10am-4pm. Rain date is Sunday!
If you’re looking for a laugh and to get in on a secret, check out Don’t Tell Portland, Maine on the East Side. The address will be a secret until noon day of, you have to buy tickets to get the address emailed to you. And you won’t know who is performing until you get there! It’s BYOB too so there won’t be any overpriced drinks at this party.
Snag some tickets for Honeysuckle at One Longfellow Square, doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm! This acoustic trio was named Best Folk Artist at the 2018 Boston Music Awards, and has performed at Lollapalooza and the Newport Folk Festival! Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 day of.
Sunday
Visit Rising Tide Brewing Company from 12-6pm for the second annual SummerSide Music and Arts Festival. Tickets are either a suggested donation of $10 or $20 for a T-shirt and sticker bundle! There will be local artisans, music, food, and beer. This is an all ages event and dogs are welcome!
Check out Reggae Sunday on Peaks Island from 11:30am-5pm and grab a beer or Rum Bucket!
Sunday Night Comedy at Empire will host Kat Walker this Sunday. Doors open at 8pm and tickets are $5. This event is 21 and over so make sure to bring your ID!
