Friday
Learn about crowdfunding at SMBME 100! Cocktails and Crowdfunding from 4:30-7pm. This event is hosted by Social Media Breakfast Maine at Red Thread. Stop by and network, snack, and learn about crowdfunding for small businesses.
State Theatre is hosting Sublime With Rome at Thompson’s Point with performances by SOJA, Common Kings, and Seranation. This is an all ages event and tickets cost $45. The box office opens at 3pm, doors are at 4pm, and the show starts at 5pm!
Snag some tickets to BRAINCHILD: Cape Cannons + Death Cab for Cutie at Empire Live Music & Events. This event is about bringing together covers and original music. Cape Cannons will perform a set of her own music followed by a set dedicated to Death Cab for Cutie. Doors open at 9pm. This is a 21+ event and there is a cover of $10.
From 9pm-12:30am Geno’s Rock Club will be hosting The Long Year, Bad Combo, Don’t Panic, and The Meddybemps. These local Portland punk rock bands have some serious attitude! The show is 21+ and has an $8 cover. Doors open at 8:30pm.
Saturday
Visit Portland Farmers Market at Deering Oaks Park from 7am-1pm! There are 40+ Maine farmers and food producers at the market. Whatever produce you’re looking for the Portland Farmers Market will have it.
Get ready for Hip Hop Yoga on the Eastern Prom! Anyone is welcome to join no matter what level of yoga experience they have. This class is from 8-9am and will meet behind the tennis courts and community garden. Tickets are $15.
Grab a friend and book your spot for Scavenge Portland from 3-6pm. Whether you sign up on your own or with a group this scavenger hunt offers an interactive itinerary with stops at some of Portland’s breweries! The night starts off at Three Dollar Deweys so make sure to get there a little early for parking.
Snag some tickets to Zootz Nite Club Dance Party at the Port City Music Hall from 8pm-1am. This dance party will feature trance, house, techno, 80s, and 90s music with a ton of amazing DJs! This event is 18+ and tickets are $20.
Check out Make ME Laugh at Empire Live Music and Events. This live comedy show pits local comedians against audience members to see which can make the other laugh first! Don’t worry, you don’t have to volunteer to play the game if you don’t want too, the show is funny either way! Doors open at 8:30pm and the cover is $5. This is a 21+ event.
Sunday
Grab some tickets to a Sea Dogs game because it’s Princess and Pirate Day from 11:30am-4pm! Kids 16 and under are encouraged to attend the game dressed as a princess, pirate, or both! There will be a pregame tea party on the field with lemonade, iced tea, cookies, and brownies. There will also be tiaras and eye patches available as well as meet and greets with your favorite princesses and pirates!
It’s Sunday on the Boulevard and the Baxter Boulevard will be closed from 9am-4pm. This is the perfect time to take a stroll or ride your bike and take in one of Portland’s best views.
Attend Portland Museum of Art’s Deconstructing The Beatles: Abbey Road – Side 1. This is a track by track deconstruction of Abbey Road presented by Beatleologist Scott Freiman. This presentation is from 11am-12:30pm and tickets are $9 for general admission and $7 for members and students.
Looking for a laugh? Check out Maine’s Funniest Comedian Comedy Competition at the Portland House of Music from 8-11pm. Doors open at 7pm and the tickets $8 in advance and $12 day of. This is a 21+ event so bring your ID!
It’s Reggae Sunday on Peaks Island from 11:30am- 5pm. Stop by and grab yourself a beer or rum bucket!
