Friday
The First Friday Art Walk of the year kicks off at 5pm! Don’t miss the amazing art, shows, and programming at some of Portland’s best venues. View the full listings on the Creative Portland website.
Attend the unveiling of the 2019 Photos of the Year at the Portland Public Library from 5:30-7pm. This opening reception will have light refreshments and workshops throughout the show. This event is free and open to the public.
Check out LOLS: An Evening of Local Comedy feat Yael Gavish and More from 8-11pm at One Longfellow Square. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 day of. The doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. This is an all ages event.
Saturday
Head to the Portland Public Library for The Kids are Alright Children’s Concert from 10:30-11:30am. This concert is free and is hosted by Maine Academy of Modern Music. This event is a part of a series that’s aim is to get children involved in music.
Jam out at Bowie Night-A Glam Dance Party at FLASK LOUNGE from 8pm-1am. DJs will be spinning Bowie and glam dance music! There is a $5 cover, part of which will go to the Frannie Peabody Center. This is a 21+ event.
Catch Gina and members of the Red Eye Flight Crew from 9:30-close at Gritty McDuff’s!
Grab a ticket to the comedy game show Make ME Laugh at Empire Comedy Club! This is a 21+ event and tickets are $5. Join in and become a contestant, or sit back and watch as comedians face other members of the audience!
Sunday
Print: A Bookstore is hosting Community Storytime from 11am-12pm. This is their monthly children’s storytime event for children ages 2-6 and whoever else would like to join. There will be a book reading and a corresponding craft!
Head to Bull Feeney’s for an Irish Session Featuring The Milliners. Sit back, listen to folk musicians play amazing Irish music, and relax! Session runs from 12-3pm.
If you’re still in need of a laugh check out this Comedy Roast Battle presented by Ian Stuart at the Portland House of Music and Events! The doors open at 6pm and the battle begins at 7pm. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 day of, and this is a 21+ event so don’t forget your ID!
