Friday
Carnaval ME is in full force on the Eastern Promenade this Friday and Saturday! This event is inspired by Carnaval de Quebec and includes ice sculptures, live entertainment, and a bites and brews igloo! Check out the awesome events on the schedule on their Facebook page!
Catch “My Blue Monday” Live on the Patio at Allagash Brewing Company from 4:30-6:30pm. Sip on a cold one and take in the sounds!
January’s GQB (Guerilla Queer Bar) will be at Salvage BBQ & Smokehouse from 7-10pm! Grab a rainbow heart sticker for visibility and make new queer friends! All are welcome so bring your buddies!
There’s a Free Comedy Showcase at Empire Comedy Club at 7pm with an open mic after! Bring your friends and get ready to laugh! This is a 21+ event.
Dance to gothic, industrial, and 80’s dark music at Plague with DJs Remy Brecht and Saphire from 9pm-1am! Entry is $3 before 9:30 and $5 after! This event is 21+.
Saturday
Open Auditions for Maine’s Got Talent are from 1-4pm at Empire Live Music and Events! Auditions are first come first serve and you must be at least 16 years old and a Maine resident or a student attending a Maine school to participate. See their Facebook for more information!
SAGE Afternoon at the Movies Presents “The Watermelon Woman” from 2-4pm at the Equality Community Center! This is a classic film that everyone should see! The event has free admission and snacks are provided!
Maine Academy of Modern Music and Portland House of Music and Events present Kids + Teens Open Stage from from 5-7pm! There’s no pre-registry just add your name to the sign up sheet! The Adult MAMM Slam is directly after the Kids + Teens Open Stage and runs until 10pm. This is a competition between five local bands for free recording time at Prism Analog and features local celebrity judges! Tickets are $5 for kids, $8 for adults in advance, and $10 day of.
Catch the Maine Mariners vs. Adirondack Thunder at 6pm at the Cross Insurance Arena! Tickets range from $17-$24. It’s also Make-a-Wish night and the players will be wearing jerseys designed by a Make-a-Wish kid! The jerseys will be auctioned off after the game on the Handbid app and a portion of the proceeds will go to Make-a-Wish Maine.
Head to Make ME Laugh at Empire Comedy Club for the awesome comedy game show! Either sit back and watch the game unfold or try your best jokes out as a contestant! There’s a $5 entry fee. Doors open at 8:30pm. This is a 21+ event.
Aura is hosting Dirty Deeds The AC/DC Experience at 9pm! Tickets range from $15-$19. This is an 18+ event.
Sunday
Visit Boone’s Fish House & Oyster Room for brunch and take in the smooth sounds of Blue Fuse Jazz from 12-2pm!
