Snake Lips is an indie punk band out of Portland, Maine. Created by vocalist and guitarist Cody Mitchell, Snake Lips features a rotating line up backing musicians, including Pete Caradonna on drums, Tom Cook on bass, and Sam Ellis on guitar.
Evergreen (2020), the band’s first album, is a DIY-release influenced by Mitchell’s love of DIIV and Alvvays. Melt the Sun (2021), a collaborative EP release by Maine label Repeating Cloud and the New York-based Totally Real Records, features skittery, up-tempo punk songs and a track by lo-fi punk act We Are Joiners.

Milk St: Northeast Emo From the Pine Tree State
Hailed as a “Thinking Man’s Punk Rock Band,” by Mainebrews N Musicreviews, Milk St. is a punk trio from Bangor, Maine who takes the melodic aspects of midwest emo, and the rawness of grunge to create what they call, Northeast Emo. In an attempt to capture the beautifully depressing aspects of their home state of Maine, Milk St. draws from bands such as Title Fight, Modern Baseball, Nirvana, and more to create something totally new. With the release of their newest Single, “Baseball,” Milk St. is preparing for the release of its Debut Studio Album: Spaced.

Skymall is a trio of seekers from Portland, Maine, who do not discriminate between within and without. Undergoing in-depth research in fusing the elements of love, pain, and the entirety of human experience with chrome cassette tape, they hope to have the chance to give you a peek “behind the kaleidoscope,” so to speak, and play you some, like… heavy… jams. Expect hazy guitar and synth melodies, life-affirming polyrhythms, and pre-pandemic levels of fun.
