Cargo Pizza Company (Website|Instagram|Facebook), well-loved for its mobile pizza truck that serves hot, fresh pizzas wherever it parks, is expanding into a brick-and-mortar location at 1053 Forest Ave, previously home to Falafel Time.
Owner Gregory Mihos shared his vision with us for the new location: “My goal for the business is to provide people with their favorite foods. But do so in a way that is consistent, reliable, affordable, delicious, and using top quality ingredients while avoiding the unnecessary additives that are found in a lot of foods these days.” He adds, “We will be doing as much as possible in house, from scratch. To ensure the integrity and quality of the food.”
This new pizzeria will continue Cargo Pizza Co.’s tradition of fresh, Neo-Neapolitan/New Haven-style pizza baked in a brick oven while expanding the menu to feature burgers, french fries, and other classic fried options. Breakfast items are also planned to be introduced after opening.
The new 1,200-square-foot space will offer seating for up to 20 diners inside and expand to outdoor seating in good weather. And for fans of the pizza truck experience, don’t worry—the food truck isn’t going anywhere! As the truck’s season wraps up this week, the focus is shifting to prepare the new location for its grand opening this December.
