The Hill Arts, Kate Schrock and Married with Chitlins are coming together on Saturday, December 30 for a LIVE performance, with all proceeds to benefit Milestone Recovery.
Milestone Recovery is a Portland-based non-profit working at the intersection of homelessness and substance use disorders. It’s HOME Team outreach program and 36-bed Emergency Shelter on India Street serve hundreds of Mainers each year, helping to meet basic needs like shelter, food, and medical care, while also providing pathways to long-term housing and substance use treatment. It also provides substance use detox treatment and long-term residential treatment. Milestone’s Detox program, one of only two in the state dedicated exclusively to serving low-income individuals and those experiencing homelessness, is in the process of a major expansion which will double the number of people it can treat. Married with Chitlins is an acoustic music duo of Liz and Chris Lannon that performs Traditional American music, Old Time Country and Blues, some Jazz standards and Celtic reels and jigs Along with our own original styling. In Mid Coast Maine for 20 Plus years after escaping The Boston area. We are mainly Guitar, Mandolin, Harmonica and Fiddle with a strong female lead vocal with harmonies.
A huge part of Kate Schrock’s talent and dexterity as a songwriter is her seemingly effortless ability to inject a subtext of calmness into her songs. This in turn allows her listeners to tap into the special kind of energy one discovers when teetering between the zones of outrage and forgiveness, and she accomplishes all of this without having to redirect any of the less-than-flattering light she likes to cast upon the burdens and challenges of love and spiritual health that exist in what most would agree are especially perplexing times these days. With her unique knack for pulling off this emotional kind of balancing act, Invocation once again demonstrates why Billboard Talent Net has proclaimed Kate Schrock to be “one of the best unsigned artists in the U.S.”
