We are excited to announce that we will be hosting our first ever Oyster Shucking Class/Event at the SoPo Market and Raw Bar! 🦪🦪🦪

At this event, you will get the opportunity to learn step-by-step how to safely shuck an oyster. This class is perfect for those brand new to oysters who want to learn some oyster basics and for oyster lovers who wish to continue their journey into the enthralling world of one of Maine’s most treasured shellfish.

The class will be led by oyster shucking expert Bob Kramer. Bob has shucked thousands of oysters over the years and now proudly manages SoPo’s oyster program at the Raw/Oyster Bar.

The event will be held on Saturday 11/13 between 2 and 3:30 PM. You will receive 6 oysters to practice shucking with. These oysters are free of charge!

If you have an oyster shucking knife and pair of gloves, bring them with you! If not, we have professional-grade knives and gloves for sale at the bar.

There will be a presentation starting at 2 PM, which is first come, first serve, but the event will be free to join any time between 2 and 3:30!
