In this workshop, Danielle will guide you through a physical practice inspired by the Hanged Man: strange positions that shift perspective, awkward moments that become easier when releasing the need to be perfect. You’ll then move into a long savasana, Corpse Pose, and Abigail will guide you on a journey into the Death archetype and all there is to discover in that great release. As you come out of that meditation, Temperance will help you find sparks and seeds of desire, the dreams that are lurking at the edge of your awareness, the messages that are waiting to come through the veil.
As the veil between worlds thins, the Death archetype, Card 13, can be a potent guide. Death is a great release, a long exhale. Death, coming in the middle of the Major Arcana, signals an opportunity to be reborn.
The archetypes of the Major Arcana tell a story in their progression. Death comes after The Hanged Man, an archetype of changing perspectives and releasing into the absurdity of uncomfortable predicaments. Death comes before the Temperance card, an archetype of stillness and quiet, where your hidden desires can be felt, if you are willing to be patient.
This workshop is open to all levels and physical abilities – you don’t need to be able to do all the poses to gain the wisdom of the Hanged One. Expect to balance movement, meditation and discussion.
We recommend bringing a journal. You are welcome to bring your own Tarot cards, although that is not necessary. Abigail will have copies of The Somatic Tarot available for sale, and will bring copies of the deck for you to use during the workshop.
Slide scale pricing at $20, $30 and $40 available.

Abigail’s Bio:
Abigail Rose Clarke knows we can use the inherent wisdom of our bodies to be in direct conversation with our creativity and our aliveness. When we do that, we dismantle oppressive systems and build a future that is lush and generative and deeply relational. She created the Somatic Tarot over several years, deepening her intensity on the project over the quarantines. This relationship to the Tarot is rooted in the body and the natural world, and the ways the body is always adaptable and always adapting.
As the world changes so dramatically we are tasked with the enormous responsibility of remaining present to the world as it is, which requires that we remain present to ourselves as we are. The Tarot can guide us on this journey, if we let it.
