This weather has been getting us in the mood for porch drinking. Luckily, we have a lot of great brews coming this week: Sours on Sours on Sours. If you’re not interested in a Sour, then we have refreshing IPA’s and Lagers. Let’s visit the tasting rooms today and Friday, though, before some rain and (possibly) snow?! hits us! Don’t fret, warm weather will be back next week!.
Here’s this week’s guide to the latest beer releases, rundowns of what’s on tap, upcoming brewery events, and a roundup of Maine beer news.

Pale Blue Dot was brewed in collaboration with Orono Brewing Company, to benefit Mother Earth. Hopped with Citra, Galaxy, and Mosaic, Pale Blue Dot is a hazy straw color with a big fluffy head and huge tropical, candied orange, peach, and berry notes on the nose. Each sip is super soft and fluffy with tropical notes soaring through, leaving little to no residual bitterness. This is a damn tasty NEIPA.
A portion of the proceeds from Pale Blue Dot will be donated to Sebago Clean Waters.
Geary Brewing Company
38 Evergreen Drive, Portland
Maine’s Summer Ale, Golden Style Ale (6%) & Pick Me, Blueberry Lager (4.8%)
Summer is back. This version of a British Golden Ale is moderately strong in alcohol, rounded in body, golden in color, and supports slight hints of fruit. Maine’s Summer Ale is remarkably refreshing ale for the dog days.
Pick Me was brewed with fresh Maine wild blueberries (we just can’t seem to get enough of them!). This lager captures the unique, robust flavor profile of those tiny blue miracles with a clean, fresh finish in every sip.
Gritty McDuff’s Brewing Company
396 Fore St., Portland; 187 Lower Main St., Freeport; and 68 Main St., Auburn
Strawberry Alarm Clock, IPA
Strawberry Alarm Clock is Gritty’s latest addition to their rotating IPA series. It is a collaboration brew between brewer Larry Hudson & Gina Sterling, Gritty’s Social Media guru. They were hoping to create the perfect springtime IPA by aging this brew on top of 80 lbs. of pureed strawberries! Citra (USA), Mosaic (USA), Hull Melon (Germany) hops were in full swing in this brew. They’re going through this beer like hotcakes (strawberry ones, of course), so be sure to swing by and grab a pint before they move along.

Whoopie pies and peanut butter go together like flannel and bean boots. When you already make a whoopie pie stout, why not add a peanut butter twist?
