After 25 incredible years of service, Local 188 is closing their doors for their final service tonight. Established in 1999 by chef and owner Jay Villani, the beloved restaurant originally found its home at 188 State Street in Longfellow Square before relocating to its current spot at 685 Congress Street in 2007.
In addition to Local 188, Jay Villani is also the owner of Salvage BBQ and Black Cow Burgers & Fries. His son, Sonny, who has been head chef at Local 188 for some time, shared that after the closure, he plans to pursue a college degree, while the rest of the talented team will be heading off to chase their own dreams.
