Here’s a fact for you: On an average year, restaurants & the foodservice industry are responsible for two-thirds of seafood sales in the US.
However, two years into the pandemic and restaurants still continue to feel the negative impact of COVID-19, from staffing shortages to increased cost of doing business. When the restaurant industry struggles, the seafood industry struggles.
That’s why in support of their Culinary Partners, the Gulf of Maine Research Institute is proud to reintroduce Split The Seafood Bill Week 2022. Starting Monday, March 21st until Sunday, March 27th they will be offering to split the cost of takeout or dine-in orders for 300 community members who enter to win when they order a seafood dish from these participating restaurants:

The Highroller Lobster Co.
Andy’s Old Port
TIQA
Becky’s Diner
Luke’s Lobster

How does it work once you’ve ordered? After you’ve added at least one seafood dish to your bill from a participating restaurant, you’ll need to snap a photo of your itemized receipt – this is necessary to verify that you ordered seafood.
Once that’s done, you’ll need to complete & submit a reward form for a chance to to split the seafood bill and receive a $30 Visa gift card. The Gulf of Maine Research Institute will be accepting submissions until March 29th at 11:59pm. You can enter multiple times from one or more participating restaurants, but cannot be selected to win more than once.
And the winner is…
For each Culinary Partner restaurant, the GMRI will randomly draw ten winners to win the split the seafood bill drawing. They will notify winners by email by April 1, 2022. Winners will receive a $30 Visa gift card in the mail in the following 1 – 2 weeks.
Lastly, be sure to tell your friends by posting a photo of your meal with the hashtag #SplitTheSeafoodBill & give a shout out to the restaurant as well as The Gulf Of Maine Research Institute on Instagram (@gulfofmaineresearchinstitute), Facebook (@gulfofmaine), & Twitter (@GMRI) for a chance to win a $25 gift card to one of the seafood markets who partner with GMRI to sell Gulf of Maine Responsibly Harvested seafood: Docks Seafood Market, Free Range Fish & Lobster, P.J.
