
There is no shortage of fun events this weekend in Portland, Maine! With a craft fair, two dog focused fests, comedy shows, and music performances there will be something for everyone!
Friday
Make your way to Hadlock Field with the Portland Sea Dogs for Women in Sports Night! This event is from 5:30pm-10pm and is in honor of National Women’s Equality Day on August 26th. There will be a meet and greet with women in the sports industry at the Corporate Corner picnic area behind the left-field grandstand!
Comedy With The Works Vol. 2 hosted by The Portland Comedy Co-op will be at The Public Works Maine from 7:30-10pm. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Beer, wine, and food will be available for purchase. Doors open at 7:30 and the show starts at 8:30!
Check out Livid Orange, Getmo, and Random Ideas at Portland House of Music and Events from 8pm-1am. Tickets are $7 in advance and $10 day of. The doors open at 8pm and the music starts at 9pm. This is a 21 and over show so don’t forget your ID!
Saturday
From 9am-5pm the 2019 Portland Fine Craft Show will be at 600 Congress St. This event is free, open to the public, and will feature over 100 artists from around Maine and greater New England!
On Thompson Point from 2-5pm the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland will be hosting Ales for Tails, a dog focused beer festival! There will be Maine brews, food trucks, and dog centered vendors! Well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome. Tickets are $35 dollars in advance and $50 at the door and there are also $15 non-drinking tickets. All funds raised go to the pets!
Lula Wiles w/ Snughouse will be at Port City Music Hall at 8pm! Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 day of. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm! This is an all ages event.
Sunday
Chris Van Dusen will be at Longfellow Books from 9-11am to introduce his new children’s book If I Built a School. There will be a book signing and a stage performance of the story by the Portland Stage.
Pet Rock in the Park will be from 11am-4pm at Deering Oaks Park! This event is free to the public and dog-friendly. There will be fun music, vendors, food, and demonstrations! This event also helps raise money for The Animal Cancer Foundation.
At 8pm Empire Live Music and Events will be hosting Mike Cannon for Sunday Night Comedy! Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 day of. The doors open at 8pm and this is a 21+ event so bring your ID!
