
Spring is rounding the corner and Portland, Maine is buzzing with amazing events! You could Celebrate Maine’s Bicentennial, laugh at a comedy hypnotist fundraiser, attend a masquerade, or learn how to play D&D!
Unfortunately, some events have been canceled or postponed. We have noted those that will no longer be occurring on schedule and will continue to update as we learn more!

Friday
Celebrate the 19th Amendment Centennial and the 100th birthday of the League of Women Voters of Maine at Maine Craft Distilling from 6-11 pm. Local breweries will be releasing commemorative beverages and a portion of the sales proceeds will go to the League of Women Voters of Maine. The event is free and open to the public!
Get spooky for Friday the 13th with MissFits at Sun Tiki Studios! Missfits is an all ghoul Misfits tribute band based in Portland. Doors open at 7 pm and the music starts at 8 pm. Tickets are $10 and this is an all-ages event!
Attend the Comedy Hypnotist Cancer Fundraiser at the Fireside Inn & Suites Portland from 8-10:30 pm. Tickets are $20 for one, $35 for two, or $100 for a room and two tickets. This event raises money for The Lafayette Family Cancer Center. This is a 21+ event.
The first CANDY’S Cabaret will be from 8-10:30 pm! This event is hosted by 2020’s Miss Blackstones GiGi Gabor and is themed TGIF13th and celebrates bad luck, horror, and superstition. Tickets are $5 and a sliding scale is available. The doors open at 8 pm and the show starts at 8:30 pm. The afterparty will be at Blackstones. This is a 21+ event.
DJs Merricat McGee and Saphire will be at Plague from 9 pm- 1 am. Listen to goth, industrial, and other dark music to celebrate Friday the 13th! This is a 21+ event and tickets are $3 before 9:30 pm and $5 after.
Saturday
Pride Portland presents LGBTQ Dungeons and Dragons! This is the first of a series of table-top role-playing events. There will be three short adventure campaigns at this event! No experience is required and this event is for ages 12 and up. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for more information!
Attend The Great ‘Jacks’by – A Roaring 20’s Silent Auction and Gala from 6-9:30 pm at The Westin Portland Harborview Hotel! Help Maine families battling Childhood Cancer! The evening boasts a silent auction, food, drink, music, and dancing! Pre-sale tickets are $60 for a single ticket and $115 for a pair.
Empire Comedy Club hosts Randy’s Cheeseburger Picnic in Portland from 7-8:30 pm! The character from the hit program Trailer Park Boys brings comedy, silly contests, and cheeseburgers of course! Meet and greet tickets will be available at the event. Tickets are $25 and this is a 21+ event.
There’s an International Open Mic at Mayo Street Arts! This event features an international lineup of local musicians and is sponsored by the Maine Immigrant Musical Instrument Project, Jenny Van West Music, and Mayo Street Arts. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, free for those with no income, and a sliding scale for those with low income.
Postmodern Jukebox is at State Theatre from 8-11 pm! Party like it’s the 1920’s with this energetic cover band! Tickets range from $30-$55. This event has been postponed until the fall.
Check out Studio Two- The Early Beatles Tribute at One Longfellow Square from 8-11 pm. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of. Doors open at 7 pm and the show starts at 8 pm. This is an all-ages event.
MJ’s Wine Bar is hosting a Masquerade Ball from 8 pm-12 am! There will be live music, face painting, and lots of wine. This is a black-tie event and masks are required. Aliases are encouraged! Tickets are $15 and are limited. Call to reserve your spot today!
Celebrate Maine’s Bicentennial with a dance party hosted by Maine: An Encyclopedia at Oxbow Blending & Bottling from 8 pm-1 am! Maine themed costumes encouraged!
Sunday
Dyke Brunch at CANDY’S is from 10:30 am-1:30 pm! There’s a suggested donation of $5 that will go to fund this year’s local Dyke March.
Bliss Wedding Show will be Thompson’s Point from 10:30 am-4:30 pm. If you’re planning a wedding this is a chance to sit down with Portland’s wedding professionals and learn more about how to make your special day perfect! One couple will win a $500 prize, and while supplies last every couple will receive a thank you gift for attending. VIP guests will get VIP gifts and early entrance! Tickets on Eventbrite are $12 for general admission and $25 for VIP. Tickets at the door are $15 for general admission and $30 for VIP.
Play Bingo with Pixie Beaver at Blackstones from 1-3 pm! Tickets are $20 and proceeds go to the Maine Gay Men’s chorus and their trip to the 2020 GALA Festival.
