
This weekend is full of amazing events! Portland, Maine has a tree lighting, a beer and oysters event, a drag brunch, a Shop for a Cause Day, and more! Grab a friend and brace yourself for an awesome weekend!
Friday
Get a Christmas Tree and Wreath at Austin Street Brewery between 12pm and 9pm. All proceeds from the farm-fresh trees and wreaths will go to Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Stop by and get a delicious beverage while you shop. A different food truck will be there every day and Friday the 29th and Saturday the 30th Baristas+Bites will be selling baked goods.
Head to Rising Tide Brewing Company for their monthly Beer and Oysters event from 4-7pm. They’ve paired with O’ Oysters to bring you local oysters and craft beers!
Stop by the Monument Square Tree Lighting Presented by Hood Eggnog for music, horse and wagon rides, free eggnog, crafts, and an amazing tree lighting! This event is from 4:30-6:30pm but the free horse and wagon rides through downtown Portland run from 4-8:30pm.
Saturday
Do all your Holiday shopping while giving back to a nonprofit organization. On Shop for a Cause Day part of the proceeds from participating shops goes to The Greater Portland Immigrant Welcome Center! View participating locations on their facebook page!
Check out the special Saturday Christmas in Olde New England: Longfellow House Tours. There will be special tours of the Wadsworth-Longfellow House, extended hours, and discounted shopping in the Museum Store. The first floor will be decorated for a 19th century Christmas and you can learn about historical New England holiday traditions. Plus, there will be hot cider and cookies after the tour!
Listen to the Roots of The Grateful Dead at Maine Craft Distilling from 7-10pm. Local musicians will be playing the music that inspired the Grateful Dead!
Sunday
The Maker’s Market at the Point will be from 10am-3pm at Brick South Thompson’s Point. There will be 90+ vendors including farmers, arts and crafts, local food, vintage goods, jewelry, and more! Plus, there will be a bar with mimosas, bloody mary’s, and more!
Grab a ticket to Drag Brunch with Cherry Lemonade and enjoy $5 mimosas and bloody mary’s, a delicious brunch buffet, and hours of amazing live entertainment. Tickets are $30 and include the entertainment and buffet. This brunch starts at 11:30am and goes to 1:30pm.
Blues Prophets and The Old Blues Kats will be playing at the Portland House of Music and Events. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 day of. Doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. This is a 21+ event so don’t forget your ID!
