It’s Friday the 13th! Get your weekend started off in a creepy way at the Damnationland 2017 film showcase at the State Theatre. The event begins at 7:45 pm and will feature “11 messed up films by Maine filmmakers.” Very on theme with the date!
OR if you’re more in the mood for some music and great BBQ, grab yourself some ribs with a side of mac n’ cheese for the Aces show at Salvage! Music starts at 8:30!
Fat Knuckle Freddy fans (try saying that five times fast) can gather at Blue tonight at 6, where they’re going fully acoustic for an American Primitive set. Joined by Olive Tiger and el malo, it’s sure to be a fun, diverse, and highly danceable show.

A brand new Old Port establishment will be celebrating their grand opening from 8 am-6 pm! Higher Grounds, located at 45 Wharf Street, will be serving coffee, curated local foods, and artisanal Maine goods and wellness products, with samples, tastings, and specials galore!
In celebration of their big USA Today “Best Craft Gin Distillery in America” win, Hardshore Distilling is throwing a Fall “Thank You” Pig Roast! Join them at the distillery for a 172-pound hog, roasted by Terlingua, new drink specials, and live music starting at noon!
Another event starting at noon is Hoptoberfest at The Thirsty Pig! Celebrate the Hop Harvest and Oktoberfest all in one with them and The Hop Yard will locally harvested hops and local beer! Drink beers from over 10 Maine brewers and enjoy a special Oktoberfest menu, and live music from noon until five!
