Comedian Nick Kroll will be at State Theatre for his Middle-Aged Boy Tour. Tickets are $29 and the show starts at 7:30pm. This is an all ages event. Get ready for lots of laughs!
Grab a ticket to BEYDAY: Beyonce Tribute at Port City Music Hall at 8pm. Tickets range from $12 day of and $25 for preferred seating. This is an all ages event The doors open at 7pm.
For all you bull riding fans out there PBR: Professional Bull Riders will be at the Cross Insurance Arena at 8pm. Tickets range from $13-$100 and the show will feature high energy, special effects, and all the bull riding you could ever want.
Saturday
Check out the Portland Intercultural Festival at Congress Square Arts from 2-8pm. This event celebrates Portland’s creative Black and Brown community and will feature amazing musicians and talented visual artists. There will be creative workshops, apparel available for purchase, and spoken word to round out the night.
Learn about the Waterways of Wabanaki at “The River to Which I Belong”, a lecture by Lisa Brook about the relationship between the 1739 journey of Polin, the Wabanaki leader, from the Presumpscot River to the coast of Boston in protest against the dams that blocked fish from reaching his community. This journey was part of a long-term adaptive resistance of the Wabanaki community that continues today. This lecture runs from 4pm-5:30pm and is free, just RSVP!
Snag a ticket to Drag It Up! hosted by Kat Walker at Empire. There will be special performances by Lady Ginger, Miss Spreada LaJoy, Gigi Gabor, Ophelia Johnson and Chartreuse. Doors open at 9pm and the show goes from 9:30-11:30pm. Tickets are $12 and every Drag It Up show has sold out before the doors have opened so grab your ticket quick! This is a 21+ event.
Sunday
Visit the 2019 Portland Harvest Festival between 11am and 5pm at Deering Oaks Park! This is a non-profit event that boasts amazing food, music, and events! There will be games, a raffle, giveaways, and free family photos available. Plus, you can take a horse and carriage ride! Funds raised will go to the Family Shelter through the City of Portland, Social Services Division.
From 12-2pm Blackstones is hosting a Potluck Brunch with $5 bloody marys and mimosas! Just bring a dish and join the potluck buffet!
Help plan a park with Plan-a-Park Sunday hosted by Love Deering Center. This event will be at the Longfellow School and starts at 2pm with games, ice cream, and music! Then, at 2:30pm there will be a Deering Center Green Space Planning Workshop where you can help plan the green space! There will be free childcare available and a children’s planning activity!
