It looks like its going to be another beautiful weekend in the Old Port! As always we have a lineup of some amazing events you won’t want to miss!
The weekend kicks off with Wazo Fest! Wazo Fest is a three day festival designed to stimulate deep healing and give voice to Portland’s diversity! There will be music, film, meditation, workshops, skating and food! On Friday, the festival sounds off on Fox Field in Kennedy Pay with a dance competition from 6-8. On Saturday, we will meet you at the Portland Skate Park for a skate competition, BBQ and kick ball game from 12-5. The fun continues Saturday at Zero Station for an after party from 10pm-1am. Sunday we wrap up Wazo Fest at Fort Allen Park in the East End from 12-5 with live music, workshops and a fashion show. This is going to be a one of a kind festival celebrating all the amazing cultures in this city. Tickets range from $10-$20.
Head to Tandem on Friday from 4-6 for a Fizz Party! Sip Devenish wines and Selectrio Natural wines to celebrate summer wines! Get up to date on what’s happening in the Italian wine world and taste a selection of wines, some of which you can drink at Tandem anytime you want!
If you don’t already know about it, Hyatt Place offers monthly free yoga! This month their free session is this Friday from 6-7. Join Holly Martzial who will lead you through the session and help you unwind and relax after a long work week.
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones will be at Aura on Friday night with special guests Battery Steele and Sonic Libido. If you are 18 or over and have a valid ID don’t miss this show! Tickets are only $32.
The Youngerbloods are at Amigos this Friday from 9:30-12:30! Grab a PBR and dance to funky soul music all night!
The 80’s and 90’s battle it out this Friday at Port City Music Hall at Versus DJ Night: 80’s vs. 90’s. DJ IBG will be spinning the 80’s competing with DJ BCKWLD killin’ it with the 90’s. Doors open at 8:30, show starts at 9:00. Get your tickets in advance for $6 or get them at the door for $8. This event is an 18+ event.
Help MJ’s Wine Bar celebrate their 4th anniversary at Cheers to Four Years on Saturday! Admission is free and the party begins at 8. There will be live music and some of MJ’s most treasured wines. Grab a glass and toast their success!
Bunker Brewing Co. hosts its 1st annual Bunker Buster Summer Luster on Saturday. Come hang out for an evening of music, beer and of course, food trucks! ZEME LIBRE and Gorilla Finger Dub will keep you dancing to afrobeat, reggae, ska and funk music. Bunker encourages you to walk, bike or Uber to this event as limited on-site parking will be available. They will be parting form 6-10, admission is $10.
Take the Night: 5k Race is a unique race that starts at 9pm on Saturday. This is Portland’s hardest alleycat style race around the hills of the East End and Munjoy Hill. The entrance fee is only $5, cash only please. The first male and female to finish the race will earn their choice of ice cold beverage and a medal. Don’t worry if you don’t come in first place, you will receive a firm hand shake and the glory and bragging rights of finishing the race. Check out the course ahead of time to see just what you’re getting yourself into. See you at the finish line!
