Friday, November 6: Portland Beer Week continues with an INSANE number of amazing events to choose from. Cut out of work early (shh, we won’t tell) and start at Novare Res at 3 p.m. for Tabernak! Dieu De Ciel Comes to Novare to meet the founders of Montreal’s Dieu De Ciel and choose from more than 20 beers on tap. 4 Canal Plaza, pay as you go. Give you wallet a rest by checking out the free Allagash Beer Tasting at Old Port Spirits and Cigars which will include core beers, wild ales, and barrel aged beers. 5 p.m., 79 Commercial Street, free.
Craft a Study of the Culture at The Thirsty Pig mashes up First Friday Art Walk and, of course, beer for a beer-themed art show featuring local artists and work by Peter Jensen Bissell, David Butler and more. Mosart212 will provide live beats while you can choose from an array of delicious beer on tap, including Foundation Brewing Company Coffee Burnside and Hoof Hearted Brewing Group Saxx. 5 p.m., 37 Exchange Street, pay as you go. Ready for more? Mosey up Congress Street to Nosh for the Hoof Hearted Brewing Tap Takeover featuring Konkey D DIPA, Roller Blabe DIPA, Mom Jeans Double Milk Stout and Sidepipin IPA. 5 p.m., 551 Congress Street, pay as you go.
Oh, and don’t forget it’s also First Friday, so try and take a gander at some art whilst strolling between bars.
Saturday, November 7: You guys, Amy Schumer is coming to town tonight! We couldn’t believe our good luck when her Portland stop was announced. Tickets went so fast for her 7:30 p.m. show, a second performance was added for 10:30 p.m. and tickets are still available. Ticket prices range from $35 to $70. We admit it, we went all out and splurged for the best tickets we could snag. All hail America’s comedy genius! Cross Insurance Arena, 1 Civic Center Square.
Oh yeah, and it’s STILL Portland Beer Week. If your liver has recovered from Friday night, Novare Res is hosting Where the Wild Biers Are, featuring foraged foods, game meats & 31+ draughts of all things wild. Starts at 12 p.m., 4 Canal Plaza, pay as you go. If you’d like a little more activity with your drinking, sing up for the PCRT Beer Week Disc Golf Scavenger Hunt. Teams will participate in a beer-centric scavenger hunt across the Portland peninsula while also playing 9 holes of disc golf. Clues will take scavengers to bars, breweries and other Portland landmark, where they must also play one hole of disc golf. There will be prizes for the top teams, beer drinking bonus challenges, and special deals along the way. Tickets are $22. The hunt starts at The Thirsty Pig at noon. 37 Exchange Street.
Sunday, November 8: Nursing a hangover after all that drinking? Slab has got you covered. Starting this Sunday Slab will now be open for brunch, and will be holding a Portland Beer Week Hangover Brunch starting at 10 a.m. 25 Preble St., pay as you go.
