Friday, September 9th- TGIF! Start off your weekend with a concert on Thompson’s Point. Leon Bridges was set to play at the State Theater but was moved to Thompson’s Point by popular demand and tickets purchased before the switch will still be valid. Leon Bridges is known for his song “Coming Home” which was top 10 Most Viral Track on Spotify. Another event is something that hits home for many people. A family member is the Webster Family is batting against Leukemia. There will be a fundraiser at The Gold Room Maine with a live band, silent auction, live auction, and a surprise auctioneer!
Saturday, September 10th- Want something that’s family friendly and FREE? You’re in luck! The Portland Greenfest will be held in Monument Square starting at 10 AM. Over 60 exhibitors highlighting renewable energy, local foods, electric cars, clean water, wildlife, and green products for your home or business. There will also be children’s activities, including face-painting, art, crafts, kids’ yoga demonstrations, games, hands-on activities! You don’t want to miss out on this family fun. Everyone get ready to time travel back to the 80’s. The Awesome will be playing at Portland House of Music and Events which means men, bring those leather pants back. Ladies, bring back the legwarmers and scrunchies. Tickets are only $8 in advance and $10 day of!
Sunday, September 11th- It’s Sunday Funday! Deering Center Porchfest is a fun family friendly event for all ages. There will be live music on the porches so bring your chairs and bikes and enjoy! The event goes from 1PM-4PM. Another active event is the 4th Annual Peaks Island Walk for CMT. It is a 5 mile walk around Peaks Island with views of the ocean and other island in the bay area. The walk starts at 1 PM so make sure to take the 12:15 or earlier ferry.
